Meet the filmmakers

Kenzie Bruce

Director & Producer

Kenzie Bruce is a co-creative director at Blue Chalk Media and has produced and directed projects for clients such as Time, Washington Post Creative Group, Lowe’s, and Magnolia Network. Before joining the Blue Chalk team, she worked in visual communications roles at The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International and Denver Westword. She has a photojournalism degree from the University of Missouri and is a certified type II wildland firefighter. Firebreak is her first feature documentary.

Chris Janjic

Director of Photography

Chris Janjic is a cinematographer who specializes in non-fiction storytelling. He is based in Portland, OR and formerly worked as a staff director of photography at Blue Chalk Media. Clients include Max (formerly HBO), discovery+, Magnolia Network, Food Network, Wondrium, Coca-Cola, Gillette, Realtor.com, Jacobs Solutions and Pearson. Chris has production experience in over 15 countries across 5 continents. He is also a certified FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot and a type II wildland firefighter.

Jesse Crowell

Editor

Jesse Crowell is a documentary and branded filmmaker based in Portland, Oregon. He has directed, produced, and edited award-winning nonfiction work for clients across the world including Nike, TIME, Lowe’s, Washington Post, Airbnb, and Max. He was raised in Bend, Oregon, has a photojournalism degree from the University of Oregon, and is currently on staff at Blue Chalk Media as a co-creative director.

Eric Maierson

Editor

Eric Maierson is a two-time Emmy-winning video editor and producer. His work has appeared on The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, TIME, Vice.tv and PBS. His work has received four Webby Awards, the Alfred I. Dupont-Columbia Award, the Edward R. Murrow Award, and ten Emmy nominations. Eric’s short films have played at film festivals around the world.

Ian Miller

Associate Editor

Ian Miller is an associate editor at Blue Chalk Media. They are a recent graduate of the University of Oregon with a major in journalism and minor in multimedia. Ian's fascination with nature, fine arts, and social and climate justice has led them to pursue a career in visual storytelling. They have worked on multiple documentaries and docuseries during their time at Blue Chalk.

Greg Moyer

Executive Producer

Greg Moyer is an award-winning television and digital media executive with deep international experience and a track record of innovation in channel design, brand positioning, programming, marketing and global distribution. A creative and inspirational leader, Moyer has successfully operated across senior positions for Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, VOOM HD and Food Network, among others, before founding Blue Chalk Media.

Pam Huling

Executive Producer

Pam Huling, co-founder of Blue Chalk Media, is responsible for all of the corporate operations of the company. She has been named one of the Top Women in Digital by Cynopsis Media. Prior to Blue Chalk, she was the Director of Photo Services at Discovery Communications where she oversaw all aspects of photography for nearly 15 years, supporting more than 100 television brands worldwide. Currently, Huling is an adjunct professor in the Visual Communications department at Syracuse University's Newhouse School.
